Young Artist Program

Since 1998, MFAF Education program has sponsored a Young Artist Program, bringing in ten to fourteen student-musicians from the Curtis Institute of Music of Philadelphia. These young musicians reside in Angel Fire- study, mentor and perform side by side with the most elite professional chamber musicians in the country, gaining invaluable experience and building professional and community relationships. In turn, the YA’s then go into the rural schools of Northern N.M often being the first live classical music exposure for these lesser served children and communities. (Music in Our Schools) They also perform several free community outreach performances throughout the festival, reaching out in new directions, making music accessible to all.
